To the Cheektowaga Police Department’s Do the Right Thing program is designed to acknowledge the youth of our community who have distinguished themselves as role models among their peers. They achieve this status by committing “random acts of kindness”, or simply by “Doing the Right Thing”.

Every year, the Cheektowaga Police asks the community and the local schools to nominate children that were observed doing the right thing. Any adult (parents, teachers, employers, neighbors, and relatives), from the community can nominate a student for their good deed(s).  These students Most students don’t even know anyone was watching them and don’t expect any rewards for what they have done, or that they know they would be recognized by this program. 

These outstanding students and the individuals and business leaders who are committed to recognizing them come together at our annual Awards Ceremony.
