Motorcycle Unit

The Cheektowaga Police Department currently has a four (4) member Motorcycle Unit who utilize two (2) 2011 Harley-Davidson FLHTP Police Motorcycles. The Motorcycle Unit was founded in 1928, four years prior to the official civil-service formation of the Police Department.  Officers use the motorcycles during their regular shifts and for special events.

The CPD Motorcycle Unit regularly works in coordination with Motor Units from NYSP, ECSO, Border Patrol, Amherst, and West Seneca Police Departments.  The Motorcycle Unit can be seen in local parades, WNY community events, funeral escorts, and riding throughout every neighborhood in town.  The Motorcycle Unit has also had the honor to be official escorts for the families of fallen officers during the annual Police Week Ceremonies in Washington D.C.  For more information about the Department’s Motorcycle Unit, please contact the Motor Unit Commander, LT. Slawatycki, at (716) 686-3542.
